Before we left, we serviced just about everything on the bikes. Minor repairs, such as my clutch rod seal were replaced.

The prairie provinces are much like Montana and North Dakota, their Southern neighbours. Not much to look at; mostly flat and unimaginative. Yeah, I'll probably get struck by lightning for that remark. I think the technical term that we used back in my sailing days was "Flat as piss on a plate". Works for me. |

This is our first encounter with officialdom in Manitoba. Did you know they have official greeters there ? Well, officer McNeill asked if we had tickets to get in. When we said "no", he offered to supply them... only $145... each ! "Oh no Office McNeil, but we couldn't." But since he insisted... Actually, he thought that since we were doing 131 km/h in a 100 zone we must be in a rush to get to Winnipeg. "Oh no Officer McNeil" I offered. "Nobody in their right mind would be in a rush to get to Winnipeg." Turns out, Office McNeill lives in Winnipeg he informed us. Oh well, so much for a mercy plea. "Will that be Visa or MasterCard" says Office McNeil |

The market place in Ottawa. The entrepreneurial youngster on the right is holding up a sign that reads "kick a punk for $1". No kidding. I think the small print said "kick a punk for $ .65 U.S." Such a bargain. |

The seat of politics and much of our history, Parliament Hill. They also manage to piss away much of our hard earned dollars. We managed to get in to watch question period. Each day the good guys get to ask the bad guys questions for an hour. |
