Robb Belo at his favorite tourist trap. This is the Glenora distillery on Cape Breton Island ( Nova Scotia). It's the only single malt whiskey distillery in North America. ( Did I get that right Robb ? )

Not exactly the end of the trail but it's up in biker's paradise AKA, Cape Breton Island.
The North Sydney ferry terminal. From here you can take the short ride to Newfoundland which is about 7 hours to Port Aux Basques or the 14 hour ride to Argentia. We did the former on the way over and the latter on the return trip.
On the short ride, this would be home for the next 7 hours or so. Since we weren't going to arrive until around midnight, we booked a room with a sixpack at the local motel in Port Aux Basques. A very nice place.
A room with a view as it turned out. The next morning presented us with blue skies and a ride up the Viking Trail to L'anse Aux Meadows and St. Anthony for the night.
L'anse Aux Meadows, it's been discovered, is where the Vikings first landed in North American a millennium or so ago. Yes Virginia, that is an ice berg out there.

We took the tour of the reconstructed Viking village. Well worth the time.
