The Iles de la Madeleine or Magdalen Islands should be seriously considered. It's about 90 miles and a few hours by ferry from Souris (pronouned Souree) on the east end of PEI and the boats only run every couple of days. This is actually part of Quebec. They appear to have a very good tourist trade here. Ferry reservations would be a must. Same for accommodations.
