2007Atlantic Canada Ride

Newfoundland

The ferry ride is normally quite calm due to the size of the vessel. Usually a bit of a roll is the worst that happens.

Sherri gives an ultimatum to the weather gods as we arrive in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland

Arrival in Port aux Basques harbour

Rose Blanche's restored lighthouse
 & light keeper's quarters
(45 Km's east of Port aux Basques)

It appeared that Jeff was a bit tuckered out from the six hour ferry trip and the late night arrival.
Pounding his tent pegs into solid Newfie granite in the dark did nothing for his sense of humour either.

As it turned out, Jeff had brought
 his reading glasses instead
 of his distance prescription

This is what the long winters will do to you.

On this trip, we decided that we'd take a few more organized tours and smell a few more roses.
This was a boat tour that we took on Western Brook Pond. ( Pond ??? )

The drama never ends

Jeff and Sherri on the long walk back to the highway.
They said nobody complains about the walk. Understandable.

Sherri and I decided to take the 9:00am iceberg tour; then the 11:00am tour... then the 4:00pm tour... then the 6:00 tour...
