2007Atlantic Canada Ride

Saint-Pierre & Miquelon
A Ride to France ???

In case you weren't aware, there are a couple of small islands off the south coast of Newfoundland
which are a part of France. They are Saint Pierre and Miquelon. Saint Pierre is the main, inhabited island.
Miquelon is mostly just occupied in the summer. We spent the night in Marystown and then rode
across to the Harbour in Fortune for the 2.25 hour gut wrenching boat ride to France.

The little gut wrencher prepares to cast off

Sherri arrives in France, passport at the ready

Miserable French drivers don't seem to let an ocean separate them from bad habits.

The fog was just as bad here as it was in northern Newfoundland and Labrador

It was a thrill to go to Saint Pierre after hearing about it as a child. Such an intriguing place.
But we were just as happy to get back on the boat back to Newfoundland after a few short hours.
